An English head hunter contacted me via linkedin some time ago. Last Friday, he popped up on my screen and we chatted again. He asked if I was interested in a quick phone call where he could explain what was on offer.
I agreed
4.40 my phone ramg and we had a 15 minutes honest phone call where he explained what his clients are looking for and I had to adimit once again that I do not think I could be the right person for the job, since I lack all knowledge about domestic application and prosecution.
My bad
He also told me that one of the company would be open to train a new person -- but that would mean less money and working with only one other person.
I am not in the position to make that sort of jump in the dark. I know I am not always satisfied with my job, but that's a place I know, a place where I can take time off when needed for my parent and/or other issues.
This will not be a good time to make a change, especially because it can mean a downgrading.
Moreover, the job will still be in Milan -- he did not mention any remote working, even if it is possible he did not since it would be too early to get it.
So, nothing done.
But it was a pleasure to speak again all in English -- it was pretty easy to understand the guy talking, he had such a lovely and understandable British accent!!
And I think I did ok in my conversation -- I got lost just once because I did not know how to express the "job partitioning" (I just looked that up on the dictionary) where I am working.
Again, it was just a phone call end of course I had to be completely honest because it was the right thing to do, even if I'd love learning new things.
The guy told me he is not going to contact me again for these offers -- but told me to feel free to contact him if I change my mind.
I'll think about it a bit, but I am pretty sure it is not the case to take it any further.
